Myrla Raymundo
I made my Cursillo in 1975, Cursillo No. 13, at St. Mary’s Church in Oakland, Decuria St. Therese. Since that time, I had been very active in the Cursillo movement. They said that once a Cursillista, always a Cursillista. I served in many capacities in the Filipino Cursillo Community; such as a Rollista, a Rectora, a Lay Director for four years, School of Leaders Chair and a Newsletter (Mariposa) Editor. At present, I am still the Mariposa Editor, re-elected for
another four years up to 2015.
Aside from the Cursillo activities, I also serve the community. Our Lord said, “Go Out and Serve the Community.
You are my Hands and Feet.” I founded a Museum in Union City, California. I am currently serving as the Museum’s CEO. I am the President of both the Friends of the Union City Library and the Filipino-American Association of
Alameda County, Senior Ambassador for seniors at St. Anne’s Catholic Parish and Board Secretary and Newsletter Editor of the Fremont Writers Club.
I worked for the Alameda County and retired in 2001. I was appointed as Commissioner for Union City and Alameda County and had served the community for many years. My brother husband Ray Raymundo, who made Cursillo in 1979, joins me in all my endeavors. We raised two sons, Dante and Dennis, in the atmosphere of the Cursillo and they
grew up to be good followers of our Lord. We feel that we are blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ.
