The mission of the FCCoakland.net website is to be an instrument of the Filipino Cursillistas in the Diocese of Oakland to know Christ better and to make Him better known by bringing others to an experience of God’s love and grace; in reaching up, reaching out and reaching in; and in making friends, being friends and bringing friends to Christ.
The vision of the FCCoakland.net website is to be an agent of change and serve as a catalyst for the Christian transformation of society’s moral and ethical values through a unified national, regional and diocesan effort of the Cursillo Movement. The website can help accomplish this unified effort by providing valuable online information and resources.
Greatness lies not in struggling hard to make impression nor in trying desperately to be somebody but in humility, by inspiring, encouraging and helping others to be happy and successful.
is a movement of the Catholic Church which, by means of a specified method, makes it possible for people to live what is fundamental for being a Christian, and to live it together. It helps people discover and fulfill their personal vocations.
It promotes the creation of core groups of Christians who leaven their environment with the Gospel.
The movement begins with a three-day experience of living Christianity - a "cursillo" (Spanish for "short courses) on Catholic doctrine presented in an environment of Christian community. The three days include daily mass, communion and visit to the Blessed Sacrament.
The 3-day weekend starts on Thursday evening and ends on Sunday evening. During the three days those attending live and work together listening to talks given by priests and laypersons, and participate in small group discussions.
The talks include topics which deal with life, the Christian ideal, the Catholic faith and a method to bring Christ into the modern world.
The movement continues with a method of working together to bring other men and women to know and love Christ by forming small support groups which are joined to a larger Christ-centered community.

Being happy is not being afraid of your own feelings. It is knowing how to talk about yourself. It is courage to hear a "no". It is safe to receive criticism, even if it is unfair. It is to kiss the children, to pamper parents, to have poetic moments with friends, even if they hurt us.
